RE: Government announcement

Dear Parents/ Carers,

Last night the Prime Minister began to clarify the next steps in the government’s response to Coronavirus. Step 2 will see the phased re-opening of schools in June 2020, beginning with children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 in Primary schools. This is only if infection rates and the government’s other tests at the time allow it.

Our overriding consideration is one of safety. We are being asked by the Department for Education to prepare to open for more children. The Governors and I will be using the next two weeks to make sure we manage the process of re-opening well, and that we have all sensible measures in place, so school will be a safe place for your child to return to.

As always, we continue to be guided by the government guidance which is being sent out on a daily basis. Once we have been able to interpret, understand and assess this, we will contact parents to give full details of our plans for moving forward.

To help us with our planning and to continue to support the children moving forward both in school and remotely I would really appreciate it if you could spend a few minutes with your child completing a short questionnaire which can be found by clicking on this link

As always, I appreciate and thank you for your support and ask for your ongoing patience during this time.

With warmest regards

Mr T Jones
