Proposed arrangements for September 2021

Wednesday 14th July 2021

Dear parent/carer,

Following the Government’s announcement to move to stage 4 of the road map from 19th July, the leadership team and Governors have been reviewing our current risk assessment and planning on how we can best move forward in September.
Set out below are the plans that we hope to be able to put into place. Whilst we share these with you in good faith, please appreciate that they will be under review through the summer holidays and parents will receive a communication prior to the start of term to confirm the exact arrangements.

Bubbles

Children will no longer be in bubbles. They will be able to move between groups and interact as normal.  Children will also be able to access the toilets independently as and when required.

Hand washing

Children will still be required to wash / anti bac their hands on arrival at school, after play and before lunch.  If you wish to send hand gel in with your child then please continue to do so, making sure it is clearly marked with their name.

Start of the school day

Reception – for the first week parents to bring their child on to the yard to the hall door entrance. Reception children will enter the hall to meet their teacher and parents to leave the yard.

After the first week, Reception children to be left by parents at the gate in line with other year groups. Staff will be on duty at the gate.

Year 1 – 4  – Parents to leave the children to enter the yard from the pedestrian gate. All children to line up on their class spots where the teachers will be waiting for them.

Gate will be opened from 8:45am. Each class will leave the yard to move to their classrooms at approximately 8:55am. The gate will be locked at 9:00am

School Street

This has been an extremely successful initiative to ensure that the entrance to school is safe from traffic. However, we are dependent on parents supporting school with this.  We would like to ensure this can continue next year and have therefore updated the booking sheet. If you are able to help, even for one morning then please add you name to the google doc

End of school day

Our current one-way system will remain in September. This will be under review by Governors throughout the Autumn term.

Times for pick up

Reception – 15:20

Year 1 and 3 – 15:25

Year 2 and 4 – 15:30

PE kit

Children are to attend school on their PE day in their PE kit.  The days for PE will be shared with parents shortly.  Please make sure your child wears the correct PE kit – red shorts, white T-shirt and a tracksuit over the top.  Children should not be wearing earrings or other jewellery.

After school clubs will run as normal. Children will need to bring their kit to change into when attending an after school club.

Lunches

Children will have their lunches in the dinner hall. At the start of the term this will remain the current menu with the exception of Thursday 2nd September where the meal will be pizza and wedges and on Friday 3rd September it will be Fish and Chips; with a move to the new menu from week 3. The new menu will be shared with parents in the coming days.

As we come to the end of another difficult year, thank you for supporting us in everything we have done to ensure that we can keep the children, staff and yourselves as safe as possible.

Yours,

Mr. T Jones                        Mrs. C Marron

Headteacher                     Deputy Headteacher
